A Trail  is a question sheet that guides children or adults around a church or historic building and encourages them to engage with the architecture, history and furnishings. The Arts Society (TAS) members voluntarily give their time to research and write the questions and corresponding answer sheets. The aim is to encourage the public to learn about the building and inspire them to visit and enjoy others. 

Once a trail has been tested, the TAS members provide a PDF and hard copy of the questions and answers to the church. The local TAS Society bears the small cost of making the trail and setting it up in the building, which then funds the maintenance of supplies of the trail.
